Fergus Group has finalized the addition of the Santa Susanna Resort Affiliated by Fergus, a three-star establishment with 214 rooms catering to the family segment. Located on the Costa del Maresme in Barcelona, the hotel will begin operations under the group’s management on January 12, 2026.

The establishment features 214 rooms and an offer centered on the all-inclusive regime. Key facilities include a children’s water park, outdoor swimming pools, a buffet restaurant, a fitness area, and sports courts, complemented by a leisure activity program designed for various guest profiles. 
The proposal is framed within a beach vacation model, with a specific focus on families seeking tranquil stays and integrated services.
Fergus Group will operate the asset within its affiliation line after reaching an agreement with the ownership, which until now has been held by the Mena López brothers, well-known tourism entrepreneurs in the area. The Mallorcan group will provide management tools, commercial resources, and operational expertise to optimize the asset’s performance and reinforce its market positioning.
The incorporation addresses the owners’ desire to rely on an operator with proven experience in hotel management and team professionalization processes. Fergus Group, specialized in the repositioning and management of tourism assets, will apply its operational improvement model without altering the family-oriented vocation of the establishment located in the municipality of Santa Susanna.

Catalonia consolidates as the second priority market

With the addition of the Santa Susanna hotel, Fergus Group now has seven establishments in Catalonia. Since its arrival in the region in 2022, the group has progressively expanded its presence with hotels in Lloret de Mar, Pineda de Mar, and L’Ampolla, to which a new opening in Sitges will soon be added. This growth has positioned Catalonia as the company’s second most significant market, trailing only the Balearic Islands.
Pep Cañellas, Executive Chairman of Fergus Group, emphasizes that Catalonia is a priority region within the company’s expansion plan. As he explains, it is a destination with a consolidated position in international leisure tourism where the group identifies opportunities to continue developing hotel repositioning projects.
The company highlights the impact that these types of operations can generate on the local economy, especially in mature coastal destinations. Fergus Group’s business model focuses on updating existing establishments without losing the identity of the destinations, combining quality improvement with adaptation to current market demand.

Portfolio of 35 hotels following an investment of 120 million euros

Fergus Group has over ten years of experience and a portfolio of 35 hotels distributed along the Spanish coast. Founded in 2011 and owned by Mallorcan entrepreneur Pep Cañellas, the company has invested more than 120 million euros in repositioning projects throughout the Spanish coastline.
The group operates through three distinct business lines: Fergus Hotels, Tent Hotels, and Affiliated by Fergus. The latter, under which the Santa Susanna establishment is incorporated, allows the group to collaborate with owners seeking to professionalize management while maintaining ownership of the asset.
Fergus Group’s growth model is based on hotel repositioning, offer diversification, and the improvement of operational quality. The strategy seeks to update existing establishments through investment in infrastructure, team training, and the optimization of commercial processes, generating value for both owners and the tourist destination.
